Trying to figure out what I was going to wear was even more of a nightmare than usual. I finally decided on going completely pink. Very pink even. Though I did note that once tehre I was also the only one who decided on that. I stood out next to the black and dulled down colors.

On day two I decided to go more in style so I went with a soft Goth look. This was my first time outside as Goth so it was kinda scary but I always feel so good in it that it was easy to let that uneasy feeling go.

I had also been talking to one of my ‘potentials’ the day before and somewhat jokingly commented that he could always come along. He declined saying he doesn’t like crowds but the next morning I got a text saying he was there, walking around enjoying himself. I let him know when I would be there and who to recognize me. Simply saying “Ill be in all black” wasn’t gonna work obviously as 99% of the people there would be in black or dark, but I also wore a pink purse so that helped. ^.^

Once my date found me, he met my mother (meet the parents on day one? GASP! That is not done!), and we walked off looking around and talking about various things. We sat down at the Scrum concert which was supposed to be acoustic / unplugged as he told everyone the day before but it wasn’t long before they just went all out plugged again. For the better too, it’s just more fun that way. Love the band, the singer is a lot of fun, it was their first time and they were really noticeably enjoying themselves.

We also sat at the public slaughter, with a guy who had a very difficult time to get things started because the band nearby just wouldn’t stop playing. He did eventually get some peace and quiet and stated to maul and dismember his victims.

Now, while my date was a nice guy, and it certainly wasn’t a bad date, we were obviously incompatible. As noted by my mother: “He’s too normal for you”. Yeah, that about sums it up. I’m far from normal and not because I’m a T-girl either. I’m weird by nature. ^.^

Now this was just my very first official date, so it was new, but also a lot of fun. I like being the center of attention. He asked me at one point if I felt there was a click. He said he had been trying to make ‘contact’ a few times and that I didn’t respond to that. Sorry, you may have been way too vague then, just glancing at me doesn’t translate to trying to make contact in my book. You’re going to have to be a bit more direct than that. He left a few hours in, saying he had a good time but he had a long drive back home. Which is true, he came from pretty far away.

The day was far from over and there was one thing in particular I was waiting for as I didn’t catch much of them the day before. Which was the pagan folk and bit-of-everything band Omnia. I was as close to the front as possible and watched as Sic (the lead singer) and the others made the magic happen. I was very impressed and their rendition of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” just completely sold me. Never in my life have I heard such a dramatic version. It was a real treat.

I saw some crazy costumes, including Ash from Evil Dead (who I beckoned over so I could take a good shot), Gene Simmons from KISS and many others. All in all I had an awesome time and it is definitely worth repeating!
